Callaway Steelhead XR Irons and Hybrids

The new Callaway Steelhead XR irons and hybrids are arriving in-store on September 2nd.

And they are creating a lot of buzz.

Inspired by the original Callaway Steelhead line that became legendary best-sellers, the new Callaway Steelhead XR irons and hybrids borrow the name of one of Callaway's best game-improvement irons, the Callaway XR-14 irons.

They also feature a number of new improvements to help your game.

The New Callaway Steelhead XR irons

The new Callaway Steelhead XR irons feature a slightly longer blade length and a more rounded toe than the Callaway Steelhead X-14 irons.

They also feature the next-gen version of Callaway's 360 Face Cup technology. This allows the thin face to flex and impart more energy on the ball at impact for added distance.

This occurs across the entire face, making mishits more forgiving.

A Hot Clubface Pushes The Limit

Callaway claims the face of the new Steelhead XR irons is so hot that the 'coefficient of restitution' (COR), a measure of how much energy can transfer from the club to ball at impact, is close to the USGA limit.

Some like it hot, and why not? You can max out the potential every shot.

Ideal Weight Distribution In Every Club

The Callaway Steelhead XR irons also feature Callaway's Bore-Thru hosel, which improves the MOI for added forgiveness and allows the center of gravity to be moved to its optimum location for each iron in the set.

For the long irons, the weight has been placed long and back.

For the mid-irons, the weight is low and mid-back.

And for the short irons, it is low and mid for a higher spinning, penetrating ball flight.

Good Vibes & Ideal Sound

A steel and polyurethane port behind the lower portion of the face absorbs vibration and promotes ideal sound at impact.

The New Callaway Steelhead XR Hybrids

The new Callaway Steelhead XR hybrids sport a larger footprint than a so-called player's hybrid.

They are more like a short fairway wood in providing distance and quickly launching the ball high.

At the same time, Speed Step technology on the crown helps improve your swing speed for added yards.
