The new Ping Vault putter line is named for a special vault at Ping headquarters in Phoenix. The vault holds what is is arguably the world's most valuable putter collection.
The collection contains a commemorative gold putter for every professional win using a Ping putter. Win a Tour event and players get a gold plated copy of their putter--while a second copy is added to the vault.
Win a major, and the putter is made of solid gold. Begun in the 1970's, the Ping Gold Vault collection now holds more 2,800 putters.
Players from Bubba Watson to Seve Ballesteros have gold putters in the Ping vault. Now, Ping has named a new line of flatsticks after this iconic vault of championship putters.
Four Ping Vault Putters
The new Ping Vault Putter line includes two blade models (Voss and Anser 2) and two mallet style putters (Oslo and Bergen). All are available in a choice of slate or platinum finishes. And all can be customized for lie angle and loft.
The Voss and Anser 2 are completely machined from solid blocks of stainless steel for a premium look and feel.
The Bergen and Oslo models feature milled aluminum bodies with stainless steel soleplates for improved MOI and stability at impact.
Named in Honor of A Legendary Founder
The Ping Vault Putter line is named for towns in Norway, the native land of Ping's legendary founder, Karsten Solheim.
“He was born in Bergen more than 100 years ago," said his son, John Solheim, Ping's current Chairman and CEO. "Oslo is the country’s capital, and Voss is a beautiful town known for its outdoor activities. We think it’s a nice way to further his legacy."
Fully Milled Construction
The entire new Ping Vault Putter line features Ping's new Precision-Milled TR Face Technology, which uses variable length grooves to offer you better speed control on the green.
The design includes shallower grooves on the perimeter of the putter face, which Ping says speed up mishit putts so they roll at the same speed as putts hit on the center of the putter face.
New Oversized Ping Pistol Grip
All four models in the new Ping Vault Putter line come standard with a new lightweight, oversized Ping Pistol grip made from tacky polymer for added feel and comfort throughout the putting stroke.

So far, demand for these new Ping putters has been high.
"These putters require a lot of time and precision in the manufacturing process," John Solheim said. "The higher demand means golfers may have wait a couple of extra weeks to get one in their bag. It will be worth the wait."
