The Callaway Apex Irons offer all the benefits of forged irons - great looks, sound and solid feel. What sets the Apex Irons apart from other forged irons is the unbelievable distance they produce. The distance is created primarily from the face. Callaway engineers have been able to sandwich high strength Carpenter 455 Stainless Steel within a 1020 forged Carbon Steel framework. The multi-material compostion allows for a hot, thin face which translates to faster ball speed and more distance. The lighter face allows them to reposition head weight which improved launch conditions and distance.
Each iron undergoes a 40-minute milling process that distributes weight low and deep in the iron head and around the perimeter. To reduce vibrations, rubber material is added in the cavity to further replicate the one-piece forged iron feel that many golfers prefer. For improved turf interaction from tight lies, there's rolled leading edge sole grind. The long irons feature tungsten sole weights that help golfers launch them higher by further lowering the center of gravity.
The 8 club set includes 4 - 9 irons, PW and AW. True Temper’s XP95 steel shaft are standard. UST Recoil graphite shafts are available by special order.
