Women's Movement

According to SKI Magazine, a handful of ski companies have “fi nally done it.” They have fi nally created skis that have every bit as much performance and technology as men’s skis—only they are designed specifi cally to work well for the typical woman, who is lighter, with a lower center of gravity, than a typical man. These new skis are lighter and softer, yet still strong and stable. They are easier to control and turn—without sacrifi cing power or edge grip. “We don’t design jockstraps, so why should men design women’s skis?” jokes Alison Gannett, a HEAD ski designer.

Women’s boots have also been improved, designed to better conform to their soles, heels, ankles and calves, while women’s bindings and their placement on skis have been made more effective. All of which means women are better equipped than ever to carve turns, handle bumps, and stave off fatigue.

At Golf & Ski, we now carry 25 different women’s ski models, and we have doubled our women’s selection of skis and boots over the past four years.

We invite you to stop by and see these remarkable new women’s skis and boots. Come learn how they can make it easier for you to have more fun on the mountain this winter, and let us custom fi t you to the best equipment for your needs.
