Ping has introduced a new player’s distance iron that is getting rave reviews for its performance, feel and looks.

And for good reason.

The compact player’s sized head delivers more speed and distance…a pleasing feel and sound…an easy launch…and long towering shots that hit and hold the green.

If you’re a golfer who wants the look of a blade but knows you’re not skilled enough to use them, the new Ping i525 irons are a great option for you.

Replacing the Ping i500 irons, the new Ping i525 irons feature a number of excellent improvements that make them well worth some test swings in our state of the art indoor fitting bays.

Let’s take a closer look at how Ping has created their best player’s distance iron yet and what it can mean for your iron game.

The Tech Works

The new i525 irons combine some technologies of Ping’s i59 and G425 irons to provide improved feel along with performance enhancement.

It’s not an easy task to produce a compact forged iron that provides speed, distance, easy launch and forgiveness.

But Ping has succeeded, thanks to the help of technology.

Maraging Steel Face

Ping has engineered a powerful new design in the i525 irons, thanks to a forged, maraging steel face that allows for a thinner and more dynamic face structure.

The face significantly increases speed and provides a pleasing feel and sound.

There is an internal sole undercut in the 17-4 stainless steel body to increase flexion, which launches shots faster and higher.

This same face is used in the G425 irons and produces a bouncing, trampoline feel of the ball leaving the face at impact.

Pleasing Sound & Feel

When the face is flexing in this manner, it can cause a more hollow sound.

To counteract this in the new i525’s, Ping has precisely injected an EVA polymer to cushion impact sound and feel, while allowing for maximum face deflection.

This deflection is the source of increased ball speed.

Micromax Grooves

The new i525 irons also feature a precision-milled groove pattern that allows for tighter spacing and a geometry that results in an average of four extra grooves.

This reduces fliers in the short irons and preserves spin in the long irons for greater control and consistency.

Nice!

Extreme Tungsten Weighting

Tungsten weights in the toe and the shaft tip are separated across the club head to maximize stability.

Combined with the tiered, dynamic face structure, the tungsten expands the perimeter weighting while preserving ball speed through greater face deflection.

In other word, the i525 irons deliver increased ball speed and less face rotation to help your accuracy. And that’s exactly what you want from a great player’s iron—distance and accuracy.

Water Repellent Finish

The new Ping i525 irons also feature a Hydropearl 2.0 chrome finish, which repels water off the face for more spin in wet conditions—as well as a more consistent spin rate in all conditions.

Great Looks & Styling

One of the most distinctive qualities of the new Ping i525 irons is the handsome styling.

The head has a very similar design and look at address as the i59 iron—long and sleek.

The players-style blade length has a thin topline, minimal offset and gorgeous shaping that looks as if it’s been cut from a single piece of metal.

This is classic Ping.

Stock Shafts

The Ping i525 irons come with two stock shaft options.

The Project X IO steel shaft is easy to load and lightweight—to deliver medium trajectory and spin, which is a good fit for players with moderate swing tempo.

The Ping Alta CB Slate graphite shaft option delivers high launch with stability and a consistent feel.

We’ll help match you to the right shaft for your swing during our expert custom fitting process.

Mission Accomplished

To sum up, the i525 irons are a solid improvement over their predecessors. They feel sharp and consistent off the face.

Easy to swing and launch, they produce effortless distance, so you don’t have to work too hard. They are easy to shape and to flight down, if necessary.

Out of the rough, they deliver fantastic consistency from different lies. The issue of fliers with shorter irons has also been addressed.

Perhaps best of all, you will find your dispersion is tighter, with your shots finishing closer together.

What could be better than that?  More distance with greater accuracy—sign us up!
