TaylorMade’s iron development team charted data from thousands of golf shots to determine the most common impact points on the iron face.
Engineers then utilized this data to strategically shape and space the sweet spot to capture more of those shots.
The results? Measurable improvement in ball speed and distance compared to the previous TaylorMade P•790 irons.
In short, this new sweet spot is better aligned with the center face to naturally provide performance where you need it most.
Other Weight Saving Benefits
The new P•790 iron heads are crafted from a lightweight 8920 carbon steel that maintains its strength and durability while also allowing for a new thin-walled design that adds to the overall weight-saving benefits of SpeedFoam Air.
This reengineered Forged Hollow Body construction combines with a highly responsive 1.5mm forged 4149 steel L-Face to promote supreme flexibility, fast ball speeds and distance—all while upholding a premium forged feel.
